SITE

BUKU Music + Art Project is a festival experience like no other. Set against the backdrop of the Market Street Power Plant along the banks of the Mississippi River, BUKU has all the energy and vibes of an underground warehouse party while simultaneously celebrating the progressive subculture of New Orleans.

VIBE

Walking around BUKU feels like a playground with an edge. It's where we turn everyday objects and industrial equipment into one-of-a-kind stage designs and art installations. It's a place to immerse yourself fully and savor every moment whether it's headbanging along the rail to the beats of your favorite artist or staring at that graffiti mural for way too long while eating a po-boy.

ART

BUKU is an Art Project. Year after year we transform ordinary objects to something extraordinary. We see beauty, potential and inspiration where others don't. From stages made out of shipping containers and water cubes, to shipping nets used as hammocks, to live graffiti mural paintings and more, you'll never quite know if you're looking at art, sitting on it… or both?!

BUKREWE

At BUKU, we strive to be a radically inclusive environment of cultures where people can be free. It's a converging music scene of those who share values but look different. We exist to uplift the progressive and diverse underbelly of our community and create a space where you - our BUKREWE - can express yourself to fullest without hate or judgement.

If you’re in the BUKREWE you already know. If not, come join us.

LAGNIAPPE

Lagniappe (pronounced lan-yap for our outta town friends) is a Cajun-French word that means "a lil extra" and you best believe we got some surprises in store for you. Whether it's breakdancers, twerkers, costumed revelers or a secondline led by a DJ on a shopping cart, our team of pop-up performers come through with those #TOOBUKU vibes that leave you wanting more!
